Aus Wikipedia. Nicht dargestellt. Auszug: “Strawberry Fields Forever” is a song by the English rock band The Beatles. Although formally attributed to John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the song is acknowledged as having been composed predominantly by Lennon. It was inspired by a Salvation Army house near Lennon’s childhood home. “Strawberry Fields Forever” was originally intended for the album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), but was instead released in February 1967 as a double A-side single with Paul McCartney’s “Penny Lane”. “Strawberry Fields Forever” reached number eight in the US, with numerous critics describing it as one of the group’s best recordings. It is one of the defining works of the psychedelic rock genre and has been covered by many other

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! “Rain” is a song by the English rock band The Beatles, credited to Lennon/McCartney. It was first released in June 1966 as the B-side of the “Paperback Writer” single. Both songs were recorded during the sessions for Revolver but neither appears on that album. Written primarily by John Lennon, “Rain” has been called the Beatles’ finest B-side, especially notable for its heavy sonic presence and backwards vocals, both of which were a hint of things to come on Revolver, released two months later. Three promotional films were made for the song “Rain”, starring the Beatles. These videos, along with other Beatles videos at the time, sparked George Harrison to say during the Beatles Anthology, “So I suppose, in a way, we invented MTV.”

Chapters: Last Train to Clarksville, Valleri, What’s So Different?, (I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone, Hurt So Bad, (Theme From) the Monkees, I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight, Alice Long. Excerpt: “Last Train to Clarksville” is the debut and number-one single by The Monkees, included on the group’s 1966 self-titled album, that was released one month later. Recorded at RCA Records Studio A, Hollywood, on July 25, 1966, “Last Train to Clarksville” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. According to the song’s authors, Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, the song is their protest of the Vietnam War and tells the story of a young man who has been drafted. He is waiting for the train that will take him to an army base, and he knows he may die in Vietnam. At the end of the song he states, “I don’t know if I’m ever coming home.” Like many hit Monkees songs of the era (“Cuddly Toy,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday”), the song pairs a fast, chipper melody with darker lyrics. Micky Dolenz performs the lead vocals, with Boyce playing acoustic guitar. The song has been compared to The Beatles’ “Paperback Writer”, both in the style of “jangly” guitar and the chord structure. It also resembles the guitar riff in “Blue’s Theme”, by Davie Allan and the Arrows, from the Peter Fonda biker movie The Wild Angels. The opening/recurring guitar riff on the song “Find Your Way Back”, written by Craig Chaquico and performed by Jefferson Starship on their 1980 album Modern Times, is almost identical to the one on “Last Train” in note structure, but very dissimilar in tempo and meter. Though the Clarksville in the song’s title appears to refer to the city of Clarksville, Tennessee and by implication to nearby Fort Campbell, Kentucky, which is home to the 101st … More:
