When a crime is committed, there is always a reason or motive behind it. It is very important to understand the mentality of a criminal. What thought goes through your mind, which leads them to commit crimes and many of these questions and their answers can be obtained only by learning about crime and its causes.

The study of causes, nature and extent of crime and criminal behavior, for the understanding of the crimes of a better way, and for implementing several new policies in the criminal justice system is called criminology. This study is mainly related to the etiology is the study of the causes or reasons of crime. People who do research in the field of criminology are called criminologists.

Criminology provides many theories for what crimes are committed by criminals on the basis of assumptions about human nature. There are many theories that exist in criminology. Now let's go ahead and throw out in conventional theories.

Mainstream Criminology:

• Voltage – This theory is based on the dreams and aspirations that people have. Sometimes people hold very high expectations or dreams and the dreams are not fulfilled obtain experience stress. At that time, people either choose to reduce their aspirations and increase opportunities. When people choose the later, most likely to take the path of crime.

• Learning – This theory explains the changes that take place in a criminal mind from the experiences of the surrounding environment. Science has shown that experiences in life are stored in an organized fashion in mind. If the person lives or has spent much time in an inappropriate area or the environment, develops a negative effect on the mind.

• Control – The control theory is totally on a person's relationship with society. It specially focuses on the relationship of an individual with their parents, teachers coaches, or any other person you look up to learn how to socialize. Control examines the theory that the way the union of society a person is directly related to their relationship with their figures of socialization.

The theories mentioned above are just the mainstream or common use theories try to understand the causes of crime. There are many other factors may be responsible for a person who in any crime. It can also be a psychological disorder, biological factors, economic factors etc.

Nobody is born a bad guy. It's just the circumstances or events that makes one choose the wrong path. Crime exists in any society and it is almost inevitable. However, it is necessary to learn more about crime and its causes to reduce the crime rate.
