How To Write a creative resume; get the free resume writing tips here

Before seeking a new job, an applicant has to follow the company procedure of sending a resume first. A resume is a written document which gives a summary of personal, professional and educational details of the applicant. There are number of jobs that are lined up in the market, and many people vie for such jobs depending on the requirements. Before any candidate applies for a particular job, he or she should consider many factors on which a resume depends. Only because there are many jobs lined up in the market, an applicant should not get carried away by them. The background of the company, the work profile, suitability of the job, and other related things should be thought of, before applying. The applicant should conduct a thorough study first, and only then apply for the relevant jobs. This not only helps the candidate to draft the resume better, but he or she can even place matters on it confidently. The resume of the new candidate should be such that it is almost unique and stands out in the group of other applicants.

Steps on how to write a creative resume:

There are some candidates who are new when it comes to drafting resumes. Although, the basics do remain the same, there is a lot that depends on the way the applicant puts things across. Given below are certain steps which can be followed while drafting a resume:

The first step in resume writing is collecting information and keeping it handy. This way the applicant can add important details to the resume easily. The resume should contain all the basic information such as name, address, contact numbers, e-mail address, marital status and so on. However, if there is any other creative information, other than the basic details, this too can be added to the resume. Care should be taken that this extra information is not flowery or exaggerative.

The set up of the resume can be decided by the applicant. In present times, resumes are sent as soft copies. Therefore, choosing the right software for sending these resumes is important. There are readymade resume software designed for this purpose, and resume wizards which can be used by the applicant, as per suitability. Some software sites charge fees for using their resume software. Hence, it is preferable to choose free software, or if the applicant is drafting the document on his own, the word processing application provides the best help.

The basic details of the applicant have to be clear and correct, because a lot depends on it. If the applicant has a valid email id and phone number, these should be mentioned on the resume. Instead of being a part of the main body of the letter, these details can be added on the top of the resume. It can be written using a combination of the right fonts, sizes, and if need be, the applicant can attach a photo too.

If the applicant has had many achievements and educational degrees, he or she can put them in an orderly manner, ranking the best one on the top. Not all degrees matter to a certain job; hence, these can be eliminated. But, if all are to be managed in the resume, they should not make the resume cumbersome or difficult to read. The employer should be able to notice the most important details first.

While mentioning the job experiences, the applicant should give details about the work responsibilities that were being handled by him or her. The important thing that the applicant should bear in mind while inserting these details in a resume are the responsibilities and other work related details which must be emphasized.

A resume is the opening document for an applicant, and it should not be an ordinary document if it has to be the chosen one.
