Any English book written by a British author have the theme of positive thinking?

That is… any short story, and type of novel that has a character thinking positively and achieving their goal?

I think Books by Frances Hodgson Burnett might qualify. She was born in England, moved to the US while young, but her books tend to have very British settings.
She wrote The Secret Garden, which has a sour little girl and sickly little boy who transform their lives when they move outside of themselves, helped in large part by a poor but cheerful lad who works for the manor.

Or there’s A Little Princess, in which Sara Crewe refuses to let her change in status following the apparent death of her father make her any less of a person.

Little Lord Fauntleroy is similarly themed, that goodness and positive thinking will help you overcome and transform.
